Would you expect anybody to lose their selves in this situation along with everything else going on mentally. Dystopian events can cause human to feel dehumanized through the suffer that they are put through. In the six degree of freedom Jerry is one of many who has suffered from mental health. Dystopia's tend to have a huge impact on humanity mentally as they are put through traumatic events that they aren't mentally prepared for. For example, COVID-19 has left many people you may have not noticed very depressed. As we weren't able to do our everyday activities which caused many humans to develop many mental health problems. They all may have not reacted how Jerry did but they had a lot of similarities as far as what led them to this point which is summed up to be living during dystopia events.
